WedInvite is a SaaS platform purpose-built for the Malaysian wedding market, where digital invitations distributed via WhatsApp have largely replaced traditional printed cards. Couples can choose from a library of bilingual (English/Bahasa Malaysia) invitation templates, customize all details, and share a unique link with their guest list. The platform handles RSVP collection, meal preference tracking, and post-event photo sharing — all from a mobile-friendly dashboard optimized for local usage patterns.
The Challenge
Malaysian couples were paying freelance developers RM800–RM2,000 per wedding for a basic custom invitation website, with no standardized RSVP management or guest communication tools. The market lacked an affordable, template-based solution that understood local customs like doa selamat sections, bilingually formatted venue details, and WhatsApp-native sharing.
Our Solution
Gotchaa Lab built WedInvite as a multi-tenant SaaS application using Next.js for the front-end and Supabase for the backend. A template engine renders invitation themes with customizable color palettes, fonts, and section ordering. The RSVP system captures responses in real time, generates a guest attendance summary, and sends automated WhatsApp reminders via the Meta Business API to guests who have not yet responded.
Results
- Launched with 12 customizable templates covering Malay, Chinese, and Indian wedding styles
- Reduced per-wedding invitation cost from RM800–RM2,000 to a flat RM99 subscription
- Achieved 87% RSVP response rate through automated WhatsApp reminder sequences
- Onboarded over 200 couples within the first 3 months after launch in Klang Valley
